GIPSY-U [Mnemonics, Inc]

GIPSY-U (General Image Processing System for UNIX) is an interactiveimage processing system with more than 350 image processing commandscovering the conditioning, labeling, grouping, extracting, and matchingtasks of machine vision.The system can either be command string or menu-driven. Each time animage is processed, the kind of processing and the parameters used in theprocessing are appended to a descriptor record section of the image file.These descriptor records can be examined at any time, thereby relievingthe user of keeping extensive records.The system handles single images as well as multiband images. Operationsinclude point operators, neighborhood operators, convolution operators,morphologic operators, facet operators, and edge, line, and cornerdetector operators.There are commands for optimal thresholding, segmentation, connectedcomponent analysis, texture analysis, pattern recognition, geometrictransformations, edge, line, and corner extraction, boundary finding, andarc segmentation.
